Agency of the Year 2011
Youth Crisis Center (YCC) was selected as the 2011Agency of the Year by the Florida Network of Youth and Family Services. The award was presented in September during a national conference in Orlando and was accepted by YCC’s COO, Butch Sims. The Florida Network is a nonprofit association of thirty two Florida nonprofit agencies which serve the needs of at-risk youth. The award is based on the organization’s leadership in quality, outcomes and positive impacts upon the community.
During YCC’s October Board of Directors’ meeting, Charles Stambaugh, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Greg Steele, President/CEO, expressed the organization’s appreciation to Mr. Sims; Kim Sirdevan, LCSW, VP of Clinical Services; Darryl Matthews, Residential Shelter Program Manager; Aimee Green, Family Link Program Manager and Jim Smith, VP of Facilities, for their exceptional leadership and commitment to the quality of services, resulting in the selection of YCC as Agency of the Year.
According to Mr. Stambaugh, “Quality and program innovation are the hallmarks which have distinguished YCC since 1974 when our doors opened as Florida’s first runaway shelter. The recognition as Agency of the Year is a confirmation of the continuation of these commitments as evidenced by the newest YCC program, Touchstone Village, which provides care for youth aging out of foster care. The Board of Directors is proud of YCC’s staff for the caring and compassion for each youth and family we serve.”
